Crosscountry Events 2007-8

Leyland Oct 2007:  The cross country season is under way again but Tony Pritchard the captain of Garstang Running Club’s team is bemoaning the loss of two of his stalwarts to foreign parts which meant that only five male members turned our for the club, at Worden Park Leyland, when six are needed for a team. They do say captains lead and others should follow but fortunately Tony’s team mates are not gullible and unlike him did not go the wrong way and lose about ten places. Mike Whyatt led the team home in 11th place followed by the said captain in 123rd place, Phil Cornall 149th, Geoff Lyons (seems a bit early in the year for his annual appearance) 172nd and Richard Jones 197th in a field of 250 competitors.

Apparently there is a Garstang runner in the second photo.  Who could it be?  Answers, on a postcard please, to Captain Tony.
