Dave Neilands reports . . . .

If you were not a lover of the hills then road racing in Cumbria and Lancashire was not for you last week end.  Perhaps that was the reason only three Garstang Running Club members turned out?  Richard Roberts was the club's sole representative at the Great Langdale 10k where he finished 32nd in 38.30 minutes.  This was Richard’s 58th event of the year and his 300th competitive race – impressive or sad – it must be one or the other!  Tim Warner and Mike Hall turned out at the Longridge 7 miles – strange how both races even sound hilly – with Tim finishing 77th in 49.23 and Mike 220th in 1.02.17.  613 competed at Langdale and 274 at Longridge so presumably the only people put off by the hills were Garstang runners!
