Richard Roberts and Dave Barraclough of Garstang Running Club made the trip to Carlisle for the popular Great Cumbrian Half Marathon, where in a field of 1234 Richard finished 31st in 1 hour 22.36 and Dave 225th in 1.35.39.  

Last Sunday must have been Sock Drawer Tidying Sunday as, despite an invitation from Richard for any club members to join him at the Southport 10k for his 100th 10K sadly no member took him up on the invitation but undeterred Richard finished 31st in 38.13 minutes.  Just to show Richard was not “Dickie no mates” three club members joined him at the Accrington 10K and Richard led the way again finishing 28th in 38.20.  He was followed by new member, but no stranger to competitive running, Malcolm Vinnicombe who finished 3rdMV60 in a steady time of 44.39 (looks like he is in need of the sort of competition he used to get!).  Following Dad home was Helen Vinnicombe in 193rd place in 47.34, followed by Denise Hughes 302nd in 54.34 minutes.

Finally Mike Whyatt was back on the roads again at the Waddington 10K at Clitheroe where he finished an impressive 4th and 1stMV40 in 33.50 minutes
