Dave Neilands reports . . . .

Mike Whyatt of Garstang Running Club has been very active recently.  As well as finishing 4th in 15.41 minutes in the Golden Ball 5k at Morecambe, a mere 45 seconds behind the winner he has also donned his Bowland Fell Runners vest to compete very successfully over the hills.  His best position was second at the Kinder Downfall Race followed by 3rd at the Keswick Round the Houses, 8th in the Three Peaks and 10th at Rivington Pike but most impressively he was 18th out 579 in the Anniversary Waltz British Championships and 26th in the Northern Ireland championships.  His current standing is 4th Veteran in the British Fell Running rankings.  He was also "spied" going very fast recently on a bike however he said he was not going that fast as I would not have seen him going at top speed.   A Triathlon beckons?
Oh, Dave Heslop managed one race in the same period, also completing the Golden Ball race in 19.32 minutes and 49th place.  Makes him sound lazy does it not?
